Hummingbird Farm Nursery and Gardens, named for the delightful birds that visit our gardens every spring and summer, is located on scenic Whidbey Island in northwest Washington State. The rainshadow of the nearby Olympic Mountains creates a sunny, dry climate ideally suited for gardening. Our nursery and display garden is part of a 90 year-old farming community, and is close to many spectacular beaches and state parks.

Many visitors come to see our colorful display gardens that have been featured in Country Living Gardener and Sunset Magazines, and on Ed Hume's Gardening in America and the Discovery Channel. Surrounded by a periwinkle-blue picket fence, the main garden contains many unusual plants from our collections, along with plantings for autumn interest, drought tolerance, part shade, and sun. We plan our gardens to emphasize color, form, and texture, and strive to combine plants in new and exciting ways. The Cottage Garden features wonderfully fragrant antique and shrub roses, plus areas planted for hummingbirds and butterflies. A moon garden, shade garden, bog, and wild-rose garden complete the displays. A stroll through our gardens is sure to delight and inspire.

Our nursery is known for its great selection of unusual plants. As long-time passionate gardeners and plant collectors, we have lots to offer both enthusiasts and beginners. We enjoy sharing our gardening knowledge, and love helping people create their dream gardens. For more about our plants, please see what we grow.

Our shop, a picturesque remodeled barn, offers unique garden art, locally crafted rustic furniture, and botanically inspired gifts. Of course, we have great hummingbird feeders as well.
